Before we build software for other businesses, we ship it for ourselves. The NorthStar POS platform is the clearest proof of how we work — and we hold it to the same honesty bar as everything on this site.
The challenge
Build a point-of-sale a real merchant could run a shift on: fast on the counter, resilient to a dropped connection, and safe to sync to the cloud without ever duplicating a sale or leaking one merchant’s data to another.
What we shipped and proved
Offline-first registerCompleted sales persist on the device and survive process death — proven on a real device, not just on Wi-Fi.
Exactly-once syncSales drain to the cloud through an idempotent path — a reconnect can’t create a duplicate.
Tenant isolationPer-merchant isolation enforced at the database layer, verified adversarially.
Full loopRegister → cloud → back office → customer ordering, running end-to-end on live infrastructure.
The honest part
We say plainly what’s proven today (the loop above) and what’s still gated (physical printer hardware, real card certification, app-store distribution). That discipline — claiming only what we can demonstrate — is exactly what we bring to client work.
We don’t market capabilities we can’t stand behind. If it’s on the page, we can show it.
